2009: United States of Pop- DJ Earworm

Still rocks my socks off.

Still one of my favorite videos on the web. It’s so priceless, for so many reasons.

OOGA CHAKKA OOGA OOGA OOGA CHAKKA!

kellyshoewho:

This. is. amazing. And makes me hurt a little. But kind of hurt that is cathartic.

God, her performance is so damn beautiful.

So perfect. I can’t seem to watch it enough.

Being that I hail from the epitome of  ”The Suburbs”, there is something about this song and her performance of it that hits very close to home. The song embodies the ultimate feeling of being trapped in the endless sprawl of the suburbs, surrounded by people who puzzle you and refuse to accept change, and the reoccurring disappointment in everything around you. These sentiments were extremely familiar to me in my early twenties but still linger now, and pop up in times of comfort to remind me not to become another zombie … living in the sprawl.

Thanks Maya

It’s kind of stupid how many times I have listened to this song/watched this video in the last month. Oh Glee.

Being a old choir nerd, this is amazing and I wanted to share it.

Directed by PTA. I forgot this fact.

Grizzly Bear + Vintage Disney = Win

I decided now that I have lived in Shanghai for almost 4 months, it was time that I started posting things I love on tumblr again. It’s a good way to keep on top of new stuff, since it is so easy to fall behind on new music, film, media, etc …

So, with that being said, here is the new LCD Soundsystem video. Directed by head man of the band James Murphy and Spike Jonze. Yes, Spike Jonze.

It’s a really bizarre video, definitely entertaining, and I was most certainly intrigued by its raw style. Stylistically it’s an extremely basic video, and I like it for that reason. It’s the small things, like the way the camera angle changes or how they have James Murphy (or the other man and woman) re-enter the scene.

Take a look.

This is totally dance-tastic and mind blowing.

I saw it on an article at the AV Club. It is a mash up done by DJ Earworm of the Top 25 Billboard songs of 2009.

The Black Eyed Peas, “Boom Boom Pow”

Mrs. Featherbottom is my favorite, and this scene still can make me cry from laughing.
